Hey there! I am (obviously) Grey Lady, but you can call me Grey for short. Or anything else you can think of, really, so long as it isn't insulting. I'm 25 and have been roleplaying for oh, about half my life now, so I'm hardly a newcomer. I've been slow on writing for a while now, though, so I'm looking to get back into the game. Outside of writing, I'm a professional baker, avid D&D player (DM, mostly), hobby archer, and devoted dog/cat mom. And... I think that's about all really. Or all that's actually interesting. So anyway, I look forward to getting to know y'all and meet some awesome partners!

Welcome to Writing Home! I enjoyed Archery when I had a bow, it's pretty cathartic. Do you enjoy DMing, or are you one of those "Forever" DMs that just happened to step up and now can't get out of it?

That's awesome! It's very therapeutic, especially after a long and frustrating day at work haha. As far as DMing, well, both really. I've tried to be a player a few times, and it never seems to work out. And the same time, though, I'm definitely comfortable driving forward a story so I can't say I really mind it!

I can completely understand that! One group I was apart of had a Forever DM. The problem was that since he DMed for so long, that he couldn't turn that portion of his brain off so would make completely overpowered or gimmicked characters so when one of us was like "Oh, yeah we'll try DMing" and have the first session just be such a shredding that they never did it again. It was both sad and funny as he's like "I'm not...Trying to make these type of characters! I just know too much mechanics of everything!"

Is it an in person group with a bunch of buddies or do you do it online through a media like Roll20?

That's too true! I've got so many ideas for cool characters but then I'm like, "any other DM would hate dealing with them," so then they just end up as important NPCs or even villains! Or I adapt them for my writing on sites like this haha.

I've got both. I run one family campaign in-person for my sister, her fiancé, and a few other family members. And then I have one online through VTT.

Yeah, that's what he ended up doing as well.

And nice! I've actually never tried VTT even though I have it. Never had the pleasure of doing it in person, so all of my experience as come through using Roll20. It's awesome to have family in it though!
