A Hero's Blossom

The young samurai known as "The Silent Wind", or Yashrobo Akitasho, has known his whole life as silence. It wasn't until a random encounter in a snowstorm that would catch his attention and finally give him something to use his samurai's honor and compassion. You have to be brave to save a life - you have to be even braver to keep it. Will he be able to keep this delicate blossom from wilting with the coming ages?

Or will a new face ruin the matter for everything?

War...War never changes anything...only thing earned is honor....In Yashrobo Akitasho's eyes at least...for him It was what made his life...Samurai have nothing when there isn't war...only their honor and training...At least for his clan...Yet as fate would have it one day...one cold...rainy day that his life would change forever and he would learn true honor... Yash riding atop of noble mount looked around at the recent calamity of the onslaught seen before him. Sighing he looked to the man beside him. "Dishonor...Killing people unarmed...." He said sadly. "No honor comes in this only in true battle..." He began to look over the bodies for any sign of life.

He would walk among the wreckage. It had seemed to be a trading cart, accompanied by many people. There were arrows everywhere and bodies lying dead in the snow. There were red speckles and red pools in the snow everywhere he turned. The cart seemed to be the only thing still standing. The horse was missing, as were all the lives of the people surrounding it. The driver of the cart was still on the seat he had sat on, with an arrow through his head. Such destruction.

He then spotted a little thing moving near the tire of the wheel. A small child, shivering with a blanket around them. They hadn't yet seen Yashrobo. They appeared to have blood on their arm, and an arrow sticking out of their arm.

The majestic steed the samurai rode snorted and whinnied loudly, not liking this area at all. The loud whinnies of the horse made his presence known to the child, who raised their head and then looked up at him before trying to run away from him.

Yash continued then saw the child. Getting closer before the steed whinnied he saw the child make eye contact before they tried to run. He quickly in the sound of mud and cold rain reach over his army chipping on the wheel as he grabbed the childs ankle. Shivering in the cold He cooed. "Do not worry child...You are safe...I am here..." He said showing the child he meant no harm. "I am Yash...Friend....Let me help you..." He said looking at the child as he slowly let go of their ankle.

The rain drops slowly dropping off his hair as he slowly stood up and offered the child his hand. If the child touched his hand they would feel the roughness from all the years of training. The man was getting old and had yet to marry or have a child to pass his armor on to when he finally passed. He then paused as he looked at the child. Perhaps he had an heir here...adopted yes but still honorable none the less.. He thought about it then slowly kneeled down on both his knees. "Come....Come...I wont hurt you.."

The kid would stare at him and would look into his eyes. They cried a little, making little whimpering sounds. "My momma." they finally said, and he would realize this child, despite the long hair tied like a male's, was actually a girl. She stared at him a while longer before showing him the arrow in their arm. They had broken off the quill, but the arrow was still stuck.

When he realized this child was a girl he paused. She was strong...very strong and he could see that in her before he nodded. "I am sorry she has gone to see her ancestors..." He said before he looked at the arrow in her arm. He needed to remove it as he looked at her. Handing her a chopstick he had on his belt he looked at her. "Bite on this...I will get the arrow out of your arm..." He said hoping she would

The girl looked at him. "But my momma was here." she said. Not 10 feet away laid the body of a woman, who had been stabbed to death. "I want my momma." the girl said sadly, tears in her eyes. But at his request, she bit down on the chopsticks and closed her eyes. The wind started to whip a little, making her shiver.

Thankfully she couldnt see the body as he moved around the shield her from the wind. He then quickly pushed the shaft of the arrow to go through her arm before he pulled it out and ripped a bit of cloth from his robe and wrapped her arm in it to stop the bleeding as he tied it tightly. “Strong girl…you are worthy…” he said as he picked her up and held her summoning his horse as he mounted it with her in his arms. “I will take care of you….” He said as he motioned to his men to start cleaning up and burying the bodies he rode ahead so she couldnt see anymore as he wrapped rhe wet blanket she had around her and held her close.

The girl cried out in pain and when it was all over she spits out the chopsticks and would cower a bit in his grasp. She would ride along with him across the rainy snowy ground. She shivered the whole time. He needed to get her to warmth, like a building. Like his house.

As it was at full speed his village was coming into view. Small farm lands and quaint houses. Peaceful even though a hour or two was that massacre had taken place but they were the last victims of an ending war. Soon though she would see a beautiful house come into view. A fire was already going his homes care taker clearly having got the message he would be home as he slowed his horse and dismounted. Going inside he carried her as his servant rushed over. “Get the doctor…” he said as the servant nodded and he took her into the warm room where the fire was and a cooking pot with hot soup.

He sat her down gently letting the heat slowly wrap around her. He looked around and grabbed a dry blanket and wrapped it around her. “Feel better?” He asked Still dressed in his armor of black and gold with images of wind painted on. His hair still wrapped in a ponytail. His concern for her clearly seen on his face.

The little girl might be 7 years old. She looked up at him, her eyes are a little worried. "Where am I? Why's mommy not here?" she asked.

The servant returned with the doctor, a scary man in which the girl hid behind Yash's back.

When she asked he sighed. “Your mother left you to be cared for by me…” it was the best way to explain for now her mother was dead…

When the doctor arrived he cackled a bit and saw the little girl hide behind Yash. “Oh child? Are you scared of me?” He asked chuckling as he moved closer. “Ahhh i see…i am not as scary as the man your hiding behind…now now come let me see you…i dont bite.” His voice was bubbly and kind even though he was scary looking for an old man.

The little girl would shake her head. "No, doctors are mean." she said, rather stunned. She didn't want him to be around her. Something must've gone wrong with a doctor.

The doctor smiled and nodded as he looked at Yash. He handed him some medicine and explained what to do. Yash knew how to treat room. “Give her tea with this and let her rest. Stitch up her wound if it needs it and make sure she eats.” He said and smiled before turning to leave.

The little girl peeked out at the doctor and then yelped at the really bad pain the medicine gave to her wound. She would whimper and cry.
