I hope everyone is doing well today.
Recently, it came to our attention that we had a dangerous grey area in our rules about fetishism of specific people.
While we have always had a rule against the fetishizing of the trans community, we never truly discussed the issues of fetishizing people of color.
To clarify, we are 100% for mixed races and race play in the correct setting. However, we want to ensure our plots do not diminish the horror of a realistic time.
For example, plantation owners falling for their black slaves that mimics American history. This time in history should not be glorified or romanticized and, for that reason, our rules have been adjusted to reflect that these types of roleplays will not be allowed.
Users are still free to play a white master with a black slave (or vice versa) they fall in love with, but we'd want the setting to be more neutral, such as Victorian era, where we remove the plantation. There is still race pairing and authority in one of the players. This is fine in fantasy or made up era as well. We just want to ensure we do not diminish or romanticize this horrific and unjust period in American history.
