We have decided to remove the self-deletion option for users.
While we believed it would make it easier for users to leave the site, we realized there were a few risks involved.
One of the biggest is that, were their account to become compromised, the person in control of the account could delete it.
More so, when a user self-deletes, we are unable to easily go back and clean up the work they left behind, where as, if we delete their account for them, we can completely wipe the account clean from the site.
This will also help reduce the 'emotional deletion' of an account when someone is upset, resulting in them losing everything only to come back a week later when they have calmed (we understand, it happens to the best of us).
We will be updating our FAQ page to cover how to delete or put your account into hiatus.
