On behalf of a friend who’s in the BSAA, Chris Redfield travels to Orlando, Florida. His destination is Orange Ocean University where he is to observe two subjects: an agent named Zack and a child whom he recently rescued from a terrorist cell: Jake. This boy is unique as they detected a unique strain of the T-Virus within him, which Chris recognizes as the same type that Wesker once had. The examiner in charge of the patients is Dr. Carla Radamas and her assistant, Natalia Henry. She recognised Chris and told him of the situation: Zack is infected with a new type of virus the terrorists possessed. He is stabilized for now, but they do not know when it might activate within. Suddenly, the labs were compromised by a gas that filled the lab, turning victims into rage filled BOWs. Jake and Zack were uninfected by the gas, while Chris, Natalia, and Carla managed to keep themselves away from the gas, but had to survive the onslaught of BOWs. They escaped via underground passageways, but were captured by unknown assailants.

The Darkness
They woke up in a brightly lit room, finding collars on their necks and a voice speaking to them, introducing themselves as the Gamemaster. They are the current group to test out a new viral variant called Outrage. In order to escape, they must survive three areas to collect the necessary samples and take it to the lab at the end without dying. Their first area is the sewers, encountering the BOWs known as the Enraged. Not only would they deal with enemies, but also avoid death traps and complete puzzles. At the end they fought a giant creature and managed to win with their combined teamwork. Impressed, the Gamemaster decides to split them up in order to complete the two other areas. Chris is with Jake and Carla while Natalia is with Zack.

The House of Knives
Chris and Carla end up in a medical facility, Jake is kidnapped by a mad doctor. Determined to save him, they search the halls, finding information along the way. This facility was once the property of a long defunct company named Wilpharma that went out of business in the mid 90s. The doctor was a former employee, now a BOW that they need to eliminate. They found him, but he mutated further and attacked them, however, the defeated the creature and retrieve the sample and Jake.

Doom Aquarium
Zack and Natalia found themself in an Aquarium where it holds a giant BOW swimming in connected tunnels to stalk them. There are rooms with pools in which the creature uses these openings to attack them properly, but they escape. They realized that normal attacks will not kill it, but found notes on a poison that can kill it, they just need to gather the ingredients to synthesize. Along the way, Zack’s infection is getting worse as he is getting angrier and enjoys causing carnage. He does resist it long enough to help Natalia to make the poison and spreads it in the pool after trapping the creature. It is killed and they take the sample before leaving.

Heart of Madness
The two groups reunited at the gates of the final area, a massive greenhouse. The Gamemaster congratulates them on making it this far, and offers the chance at a cure for Zack but the journey would be in the “Heart of Madness” that would test their endurance and sanity. Otherwise, they could take the easy path and just head to the exits, but would leave him to his fate. Not wanting to give up on Zack, they took the route to save him. It was a challenging struggle, but they made it to the heart, but Carla disappeared during the journey, so Natalia created the cure by herself. Before she could administer it, Zack is injected with more of Outrage by Carla herself. She revealed herself to be a mole working with the Gamemaster in order to take Jake and kill the others. This was a test to prove the usefulness of Outrage, but is deemed a failure. Zack attacks his friends, and in the distraction, Carla kidnaps Jake and flees. Natalia injects the cure into him, which makes him lose consciousness. Believing him to have perished, they had no choice but to leave him behind as the self-destruct sequence activated. They raced to exit the core and followed Carla as best they could, cornering her at the greenhouse. The Gamemaster finally reveals himself, then watches as she is swallowed by a giant plant like BOW. He escapes, leaving them to fight it. Zack arrives, offering them support as they work together to finally kill the creature by setting it ablaze. They exit the facility as it explodes violently.

Epilogue
The group found themselves on an island, but escaped on a sea faring vehicle and returned to the mainland. Chris takes in Jake to raise, the BSAA investigates and realizes the island, Natalia and Zack are examined, but are healthy.

Alyssa Ashcroft is admitted in hospital care after suddenly fainting. Black veins start to appear on her body during her stay, her diagnosis indicates that she has Raccoon City Syndrome, a rare condition among Raccoon City survivors who has traces of T-Virus inside of their body that has mutated after being prolonged for a number of years. Even though she had taken the Daylight Vaccine years ago, the small traces of T-Virus within her were dormant and began the process of mutation. She was visited by her two daughters, Grace and Justine, while her husband, Kevin Ryman was on the way. Suddenly the hospital was under attack by a mysterious group that captured the family. Kevin arrived and searched for his family, finding them in the underground parking lot. He rescued his wife and daughter from their kidnappers, but Alyssa was shot with a dart meant for her husband, shielding him as the assailant escapes. She is infected, begging him to kill her, and with a heavy heart, he does so.

October 2026

Grace Ashcroft, now working for the FBI, is assigned on a case unusual for her job description: outside analyst in the field, investigating a hotel in the small city of Stoneville. She arrived at the Wrenwood Hotel, abandoned years ago and was the site of the recent victim of RCS. Inside, she investigated the ruins, and exploring further, she encountered a hooded figure, the very same man who was responsible for her mother’s death 8 years ago. After a small chase, she was captured and rendered unconscious.

It has been a week since Grace’s disappearance, Kevin arrived at Stoneville to investigate the whereabouts of his daughter. He sneaked inside of the Wrenwood Hotel, and unexpectedly ran into DSO agent Leon Keneddy. He is here as RCS victims are being kidnapped and was tipped off that the perpetrator is somewhere here. The police who are patrolling the area suddenly became infected with a mutated strain of the T-Virus, turning them into zombies to attack the duo. They escaped, seeing traces of the Hooded man as he began to infect the civilians. They killed the zombies, and Leon’s contact, Ingrid Hunnigan informed him that this stranger is heading towards the Rhode’s Hill Care Center on the outskirts of town.

They arrived, escorted by a nurse who was expecting them and led them into a waiting room. They comply, Kevin explaining that this place was a hospital for people with chronic conditions, surprised that it is still standing and operational since it;s on the Raccoon City outskirts. Suddenly, arms blared as chaos surrounded them as the patients and staff became infected and turned into zombies.

Grace wakes up from her sleep, finding herself on a gurney inside of a laboratory. She frees herself and carefully explores the lab, then finds an unusual cell with a young girl inside. She talked and decided to help her. She first had to find a keycard to open it, and despite being frightened, explored. It is quiet until she was being pursued by the Hooded Man, but successfully avoided him and found the keys she needed to free the girl. This girl, named Emily, bears a striking resemblance to her mother. She guided her since she is blind, dodging BOWs and the Hooded Man as he relentlessly pursued them.

Meanwhile, Leon and Kevin expired the upper rooms, and encountered the Hospital Director, Victor Gideon who has RSC and made himself known to be the mastermind of Grace’s kidnapping. They attacked, but Gideon escaped. They reached the administration office and found crucial information that Gideon and his three figureheads were experimenting on the patients and staff, also research on something called Project Elpis.

Grace and Emily evade the Hooded Man for now, but almost run into Gideon as he was distracted with a phone call that Grace is the key that they were looking for in completing Project Elpis. He acknowledged that she and Emily escaped, but he will find them and bring them to a person called Zeno. When he left, the girls snooped around his office and found that Project Elpis is a cure that neutralizes the mutated T-Virus, confirming that he has RCS. He was a former Umbrella scientist who now works for an organization, kidnapping RSC victims for research, but later on was spying on her and her family as he believes it is her blood that could complete Elpis. Before they could find out more, the Hooded Man found them and they ran, finally escaping him by pushing him into chemical acid. They reach an elevator that leads them into the foyer of the care center, using the front door to escape into the courtyard where they are pursued by zombies as they race towards a nearby chapel.

Leon and Kevin heard screaming, seeing Grace and Emily needed help, so both men used sniper rifles to pick off the enemies chasing them. As soon as they were safe inside, then men followed them in, Kevin reuniting with his daughter, but is in shock as Emily looks exactly like his late wife, Alyssa. Leon stays behind to distract the zombies as the others leave through the back door that is the entrance to the underground sewers. He hid the girls behind a bulk door as he could see the Hooded Man had survived and followed them here. He fought him off, but the man mutated into a more grotesque form. Regardless, he killed him, avenging his wife. When he returned, he was ambushed by Gideon and knocked out, dragging the girls away.

Leon arrived and found him, waking him up and followed the path out of the sewers and into the courtyard to see a helicopter heading towards the ruins of Raccoon City. Finding a spare copter, they head into the city to find Gideon.

The helicopter was low on fuel, so they had no choice but to land it on the rooftop of the RPD. While exploring, they have found the bodies of BSAA soldiers and their makeshift camps. They have found information that the Connections are here, making their base at the Umbrella R&D Center. Ingrid informs them that there are several base camps, one must have a working vehicle. However, they are being watched by Gideon, who unleashed a giant spider to eliminate them. They overcame the beast and found a working modified buggy. However, they are followed by Gideon who tried to stop them, but is unsuccessful as he falls to his doom.

They arrived at the center, entering it via a secret entrance. It is indeed the Connection’s base of operations, but was split up. Kevin found Grace and Emily being drained of their blood into a machine and tried to stop it, but came across a Modified T-103 Tyrant. He defeated the creature and freed the girls. However, nearby, a synthesis machine activated and created several batches of Elpis vials. Grace and Emily’s blood combined was the key in finally completing Elpis, something that could save current and future RCS victims.

Meanwhile, Leon makes his way towards the center of the facility, but is pursued by Connection Agents. He shook them off and found himself towards the center, which is being occupied by Zeno himself. He explains that in this room is their weapon known as Project Discord, they gathered the blood of RCS victims to experiment on the more mutated form of the T-Virus, and planned to use it as a full fledged weapon against their enemies. He also believes that Elpis is the final key for the weapon. Kevin, Grace, and Emily arrive with a vial of Elpis. Seeing no other choice as Zeno is a powerful enemy, Grace gave him the vial, and he uses it on himself to become even stronger…but it did the opposite and cured his T-Virus infection. Gideon arrived and explained the nature of Elpis. It was created to not only cure RCS, but as a tool of revenge against the Connections, to ruin the organization just as they have done with Umbrella years ago. He used his mutation to kill Zeno on the spot, then turned his rage on the survivors as they intended to stop him. Grace and Emily fled while Kevin and Leon stayed behind to battle Gideon.

After taking a significant amount of damage, Gideon was drowned in infected blood, mutating him into a monstrous abomination. Despite this, they killed Victor Gideon, and fled the R&D Center, just in time for the BSAA to arrive and carry them out of Raccoon City on the behalf of Piers Nivans.

Epilogue
Elpis has been in distribution to RCS victims and will be given to more in the future. Its because of it that Emily was cured of her blindness and was adopted by Kevin to live a normal life. After a while, Grace returns to her job in the FBI office, and Leon continues in the DSO.
